Transmissionism¶
An idea within education. Transmissionism would be believing that someone can understand any given concept given the right explanation. That you can 'transmit' the idea to someone completely in a meaningful way.
Transmissionism is generally believed to be incorrect. Understanding requires ideas to have context, and Understanding needs active learner engagement
