Give structured feedback

When giving feedback, structured feedback makes sure that the person getting feedback understands the context. Without context, it might be hard for them to change their behaviour in the requested way in the future. Because of this, only give feedback about specific behaviours and soon after the behaviour happens. To keep context as clear as possible, keep feedback strictly positive or negative.

Structured feedback involves:

  • which behaviour requires feedback
  • the effect the behaviour had on the world
  • whether the behaviour should continue or not
